Reading Response -"This Typeface will Change Your...
I think it’s interesting that a typeface like Helvetica has so much control over how we perceive the things that it represents. By plastering a garbage truck with the words “sanitation” in Helvetica can make us trust the company more and assume their practices are higher quality, more reliable. I can agree to some degree with Mr. Wines when he says that this can be leading us...

LETTER reading response.
The chapter focusing on Letter out of Thinking With Type made me start to realize how much history really goes into the making of a typeface and at the same time how things have changed so drastically over the past decade, not to mention the last century. This idea that things keep building and building and continue to snowball is kind of intimidating to say the least. Back when letter forms were...

Reading Response #2
I guess for me the idea that ignorant type design is taking over and becoming more frequent kind of struck a chord. I think type design, along with many other things to explode in the tech era such as music, film, writing, and many others have all received an intense increase in crappy quality and a decrease of technical understanding, simply because of the accessibility to the public. With a...

Love it. I am starting to realize how attracted I am to simple design. But at the same time really intense illustrations just get me excited. I guess I will just have to like both!

Reading Response.
I found the reading to be very straight forward, and I completely agree with the ideas expressed. Drawing skill is something that many amateur designers feel they lack, but it is so important in being a successful designer. Although my drawing skills are far from preofessional, I find that the more I practice, the more confident I become in my strokes, and thus the end result turns out better. The...
